Toni Basanta

Toni Basanta is a world music expert. He was born in CUBA, arrived in Vermont in 2006, and has been a DJ Host in different radio and TV stations.
At the time, you can listen to him at Saint Michael’s College’s  WWPV 92.5 FM  “The Mike” on Sundays from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. where he brings new beats to Vermont in his show, THE CUBAN BRIDGE.

You can also watch him on TV at LCATV Channel 15 also in Colchester, Vt. where he hosts the HAVANA FAIRFAX CONNECTION – a carnival of music, with 52 episodes that have been picked up by more than 20 Public Access Channels nationwide.

Toni has been a lecturer in Cuba, Uruguay, Argentina, New York City, Plattsburg  and Vermont. The most recent one, in October 2017 at Norwich University, celebrating The National Hispanic Heritage Month in the US, where this multi-trackman performed as  a lecturer, a DJ on campus radio,  and made the whole academy dance the final night.

Music, literature, sports  and photography are some of his main hobbies  and passions.  His papers and photos have been published by different Cuban and International Magazines, fanzines and CDs. 

As a producer, he has participated in more than 600 albums, the most recent one CON TUMBAO recorded in Havana in November 2016, featuring pianist Hilario Duran, a musical phenom with domicile in Toronto, Canada.
